East Side Muay Thai on General Booth Blvd in Virginia Beach trains traditional Muay Thai six days a week in a 5,500 sq ft facility with a full-size elevated ring and over 2,600 sq ft of mat space, plus a separate training area for its youngest students. Adults 17+ run intermediate, all-levels and invite-only advanced fight-team classes with a Saturday open mat, there is a boxing fundamentals class for ages 16 and up, and youth train as Muay Tiny's (4-6 and 7-8) and Juniors/Teens (9-16); every new adult starts with a three-week Intro to Muay Thai course and every new youth with four introductory lessons. Owner and head coach Kru Jose Aguirre fought professionally under Fairtex Thailand, was USMF head coach under IFMA in 2023 and took IFMA's Head Coach of the Year award, and has trained champions to over 50 national, international and world titles. The gym states no contracts are required.
