Warhorse Karate • Jiu Jitsu is a martial arts school with three locations around Spokane — North Spokane at 6222 N Division, Spokane Valley at 13312 E Sprague, and Post Falls, Idaho. It teaches karate, sparring and jiu-jitsu to kids aged 6 and up and to adults, and is built around an unusual 'black and blue' stripe system: black stripes are earned for self-defense skills through class attendance and testing, blue stripes for character skills like discipline, focus and respect through the school's own character-training forms. Three of each promotes a student to the next belt, and the school says the average student reaches black belt in about seven years.
