About Pura Vida BJJ & MMA
Pura Vida BJJ & MMA is a Milwaukee academy teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu and striking in paired fundamentals and advanced tracks — low-intensity BJJ fundamentals for newcomers, high-intensity advanced BJJ, no-head-contact striking fundamentals drawn from Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing, and advanced striking for blue belt and above — plus youth BJJ and youth MMA, bullying prevention and a competition fight team. It is co-owned by UFC welterweight Zak Ottow and head coach Jake Klipp, both BJJ black belts, with black belt Courtnie Korpela — the fourth woman in Wisconsin to earn a BJJ black belt — running the youth BJJ programme and coaching the competition team.
