About DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy
DeBrazil Jiu-Jitsu Academy was founded in Tucson, Arizona in 1997 by Martin H. Escobar and calls itself the longest running Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy in the city. It represents the Rey Diogo / Carlson Gracie Team and covers personal self-defense, sport jiu-jitsu, MMA training and law enforcement arrest and control tactics, with adult, kids and private classes plus Friday and Saturday open mats. The academy says twelve in-house black belts train there regularly and help instruct. Escobar is a 3rd-degree black belt promoted by Rey Diogo in 2004, a retired Tucson Police officer of 21 years, an IBJJF Pan-American gold and silver medallist, and a certified law enforcement defensive tactics instructor who has taught the Tucson Police Department, Pima County Sheriff's Department and the Davis-Monthan US Air Force Security Forces unit.
