About Armor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Armor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Guilford, Connecticut teaches BJJ and nothing else — gi and no-gi, for kids and for adults and teens from 14 up, at every skill level. It is a family-owned Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro affiliate, and its dragon-scale logo is a nod to that lineage. Classes are taught or supervised by black belts: co-founder Jeff Fladd, who has 16 years in the sport and received his black belt in 2020, and Raf O'Halloran, a 20-year practitioner and 2019 black belt who also holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do — both promoted by Professor Jay McMinn under Vitor Shaolin. Co-founder Truc Diep coaches the kids programme and champions women and girls on the mats, and purple belt Al Starbard, who started at 54, also teaches.
