About Gracie United Metairie & New Orleans

Gracie United Metairie & New Orleans is the 36th Street site of the two-location Gracie United academy owned by Mark Leeling, a former collegiate wrestler and high-school wrestling coach who bought the school in July 2020 with under 20 students and says it now has over 200. The academy teaches gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu for adults, a kids gi programme banded 4-8 and 8-12, kids and adult self-defence classes, and an adult MMA programme. Day-to-day teaching is led by head instructor Rick Jarez.
