About NOLABJJ-METAIRIE
NOLABJJ Metairie trains out of New State Fitness at 4415 N Interstate 10 Service Rd W, offering gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing and sambo for adults and children — Little Kids BJJ (4-6), Big Kids BJJ (7+), kids kickboxing (6+), a Sunday white belt workshop, a Thursday Girls Club for teens, tweens and adults, a 6 am Breakfast Club, an Intro to MMA session and three weekly open mats. It was established by Charles "Charlie" Haymon, a BJJ black belt under Matthias Meister who is also a judo brown belt under Nobuo Hayashi and an associate sambo coach under Reilly Bodycomb, and whose record includes IBJJF New Orleans and Dallas golds at black belt, the 2018 Freestyle Judo national title, the 2015 USA Judo national title at brown, a 2013 NAGA world title and a 2015 FIAS Sambo World Championship appearance; he has trained at more than 60 gyms across 35 states. Membership is month-to-month with no long-term contracts and the first class is free.
