About UNDERWORLD BJJ
Underworld BJJ is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy serving Anne Arundel County, Maryland, teaching BJJ in gi and no-gi alongside Muay Thai and boxing. It is led by Carlos Catania, an IBJJF-certified 4th-degree black belt who began training under Royler Gracie in Basking Ridge, New Jersey in 1997 and has competed through to the IBJJF World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Two further black belts teach: Aaron Clevenger, promoted by Catania in 2018, who also holds a Tang Soo Do black belt and has coached striking, BJJ and MMA since 2008, and Robert Whitmire, promoted in May 2023. Visitors can drop in during scheduled hours to try a class for free.
