About Revenant Combat Club
Revenant Combat Club is a two-coach martial arts gym at 207 N. Church St in downtown Durham, teaching kickboxing (drawn mainly from Muay Thai and western boxing), Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the gi, and a Queer & Trans Self-Defense class that meets the first Saturday of each month. Its coaches describe a combined 30 years of teaching and 25 years of combat sports experience, and came to martial arts through self-defense rather than competition. The club explicitly frames its instruction as liberation-centered, anti-racist and anti-sexist, and welcomes complete beginners alongside competitive athletes.
